Hi, I'm Debbie
MFTC, Ed.S., NCSP, NLC (she/her)
My passion and experience includes working with individuals of all ages, as well as with couples and families. We all deserve happiness and inner strength. I seek to help you and your loved ones gain understanding, explore needs and emotions, find relief from distress and old wounds, strengthen relationships and create a toolbox for the future.
I don't believe one method fits all. I tend to match the approach to what feels best to you and your personal, emotional and cultural lens. I generally hold a Humanistic perspective, looking at the whole person. This emphasizes your positive qualities to find wisdom, healing and growth rather than focusing on dysfunction. Along with Narrative therapy, EMDR, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused training, I'm also trained in Gottman, Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I aim to approach all interactions with cultural humility and welcome all identities to this safe space. I practice with a trauma-informed lens, with extensive training on how trauma impacts the brain and ways to calm the nervous system. In addition, with 8 years practicing in the schools, I offer experience with children and teens, as well as strategies to parents when navigating the school system.
My goal as a practitioner is to truly see and hear you, understand, and help you to break through the obstacles and challenges holding you back from the life and relationships you deserve. Together, we can explore, learn and develop better ways to handle the issues that are standing in the way of your goals. Get in touch today!
At any given moment you have the POWER to say: this is NOT how my story is going to end
